During a backstage interview, Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville gave their opinions on the newly formed “Kabuki Warriors” – the tag team consisting of Asuka and Kairi Sane.
Rose and Deville were asked how they were preparing for the dominate tag team.
“How are they dominating? I’m confused. They just became a team,” Deville stated for the interviewer.
Rose continued by saying, “When you’re Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville, you don’t need any preparation. I don’t care how much experience they have.”
The two would continue by referring to the new tag team as “old”, “has-been”, and “washed-up”, claiming that when “you look like” they do, you don’t need preparation.
The plotline between Deville and Mandy has flexed between best of friends, forming the tag team “Fire & Desire”, to meddling frenemies. The pair, lately, has been on the track to snag the tag team titles from the current title holders, the IIconics.
The interview rides on the back of the news of Asuka and Sane’s new team name, which has drawn serious criticism from fans. “Kabuki” has a horrid past as it relates to women; something WWE seems to have missed while doing research for new names.
Fire & Desire will face the newly formed Kabuki Warriors tonight on SmackDown Live, airing at 8 p.m. EST on the USA Network.
Return to Bell To Belles later this week for a roundtable discussion from the writers regarding “Kabuki Warriors”.
