Kay Lee Ray is currently getting her feet wet in the waters of NXT UK after debuting recently. When she is not competing on the British black and yellow brand, she wrestles for Insane Championship Wrestling. There, she is the ICW World Women’s Champion. She’s held that title since defeating Viper (aka Piper Niven in NXT UK) for it in a grueling Queen of Insanity match back in December.
Now, almost six months into her title reign, KLR is preparing to defend her World Title against Aivil and Kasey Owens at an ICW: Fight Club tv taping in July. ICW announced it this morning via their Twitter.
Faithful ICW viewers may recall that back in February at ICW’s 8th Annual Square Go! PPV, KLR defended her title against Toni Storm. The match ended in a no contest when Kasey Owens returned to ICW following a three-month absence. She attacked and laid out both women, stating her intentions to challenge Kay Lee Ray sometime in the future. The future is now.
Meanwhile, Mikey Whiplash’s “discipline” – as he calls her – Aivil has been creeping her way into the title picture as of late. Kay Lee Ray successfully defended her title against Aivil earlier this month at ICW King of the Hawners. However, like a monkey on your back, the disciple of Legion just refuses to go away.
Henceforth, all three women will tango for a chance to call themselves ICW Women’s Champion on July 6 at The Garage in Glasgow. Tickets for that show can be bought here.
This just in, as it was announced 25 minutes ago as of this writing, it looks like Aivil and Kasey Owens will have a chance to square off before July. A month beforehand at a June 16 Fight Club taping, both challengers will square off one-on-one.
