Mickie James has been notably absent on WWE television for the last few weeks. Well, it turns out she is currently out with a knee injury.

Yesterday, Wrestling Inc reported she suffered the injury at a live event on Saturday in Waco, Texas. During a match with Carmella, James came down on her knee, forcing them to end the match abruptly after about five minutes.

Today, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter confirmed that Mickie James is indeed injured. She was reportedly scheduled to wrestle at a show on the following day in College Station, Texas. However, Zelina Vega replaced her on the card at the last minute. It’s unclear how severe the injury is or when she will return to the ring.

Back in April, James was drafted to SmackDown as part of the Superstar Shake-up. WWE announced the move online. However, she hasn’t returned to television since the Women’s Battle Royal at WrestleMania. This news seems like another unfortunate setback for the WWE veteran.

Hopefully, this isn’t a serious injury and she will be back soon. In the meantime, we would like to wish her a swift recovery.
