Session Moth Martina is reportedly heading to NXT UK. This may come as a surprise because she has been such a fixture in the indie scene, but Martina participated in the brand’s women’s tryout last week.
According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, “We’re told that Martina is in.”
“In the U.K. there are people talking as if she’s already signed. There was a lot of heat among non-WWE wrestlers in the U.K. because just days before the camp she was posing wearing an anti-WWE pro-independents T-shirt with David Starr, and then she went to the camp and is expected to sign with them.”
For those unfamiliar with Session Moth, her character is raucous and at times vulgar. If she does sign with WWE, it will be interesting to see how her gimmick translates on to a mainstream show. It’s safe to assume she will need to update it, but it would be a shame to see stray too far from what made her so popular.
Hopefully, she can find a way to stay as inventive and unconventional with NXT UK. At any rate, she would be a tremendous signing for an already stacked roster.
