World Wrestling Entertainment is scouring the globe for the best professional wrestlers in the independent scene. They are also looking for those men and women who can be molded into stars. Athletes from all sports, bodybuilders, fitness models, and actresses are all on WWE’s radar.
The company has the trainers and facilities to make a sports entertainer from the ground up. The Performance Center located in Orlando, Florida is a state of the art mecca used to help create WWE Superstars. They have recently opened a Performance Center in Enfield, England in January of this year which will also assist in the development of young and upcoming stars.
Some people feel wrestlers develop best on the independent scene. This may ring true for some, but it doesn’t take away from the talents that are homegrown in the WWE system.
You don’t need to have a resume full of independent promotions to excel in WWE. As long as you have the athletic ability, drive to succeed, and natural skills, you can achieve greatness as a sports entertainer. Here is a list of the top five WWE homegrown women of all time.

1. Charlotte Flair
Charlotte Flair undoubtedly takes the top spot on the list. Flair was a decorated athlete her entire life and excelled in volleyball. She left a career as a personal trainer when she was signed to a development contract in 2012 with zero background in pro wrestling.
Flair is already a nine-time women’s champion and has taken part in more first-time women’s matches than any other woman on the roster. She appeared in the first-ever Women’s Hell in the Cell, was a participant in the first-ever Money In The Bank match in 2017, and in 2018, was in the first-ever triple-threat TLC match.
On top of all those historical matches, she was also the one who ended Asuka’s 914-day winning streak at WrestleMania 34. All of her accolades culminated when she main evented WrestleMania with Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey.
Many people feel she has been handed opportunities because she is daughter of Ric Flair, but it is untrue. Her work ethic and natural ability have gotten her to where she is. Charlotte Flair is arguably the greatest female wrestler of all time, and her achievements can not be ignored.
