Today, All Elite Wrestling (AEW) confirmed both Bea Priestley and Dr. Britt Baker will be in action this Saturday at Fight for the Fallen. The promotion didn’t reveal who their opponents will be yet, but they announced the news earlier via Twitter.
This isn’t the first time they’ve saved a match announcement for the day of the event. At Fyter Fest, Allie took on “The Librarian”, Leva Bates, on the pre-show in a match that wasn’t publicized.
Priestley and Baker will be added to the card along with Brandi Rhodes‘ in-ring debut against Allie.
Britt Baker has been a centerpiece of the division from day one. She took part in the Four-Way match at All In—the only women’s match at the show. Additionally, she was the first AEW signee outside of the Elite.
At Double or Nothing, she won AEW’s first women’s match. She could be an early favorited to become the first AEW Women’s Champion. It will be interesting to see who she faces this weekend and if they continue to push her.
On the other hand, Bea Priestley will make her debut with the promotion after a breakout run with Stardom earlier this year.
Priestley is one of the biggest additions to this growing women’s division. The two-time Defiant Women’s Champion could also be a noteworthy contender for the inaugural women’s title.
It’s unclear what this news means but it makes this show a must-see event for anyone interested in what AEW’s brand of women’s wrestling will look like.
Fight for the Fallen will take place this Saturday, July 13 at Daily’s Place Amphitheater in Jacksonville, Florida. The event will stream live on B/R Live for free at 8:30 pm EST. The pre-show starts at 7:30 pm EST.
