Earlier, Bayley was Moon’s mystery tag team partner in a match against Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose. After they defeated Fire & Desire, Kayla Braxton interviewed them in the ring and asked the champion who she plans to defend her title against next.
First, Bayley said she was so happy her chapter with Alexa Bliss is over so she could work to elevate the SmackDown women’s division. Then she acted coy and said she wanted to face someone who is worthy, charismatic, and that she has never faced before.
It became clear she was implying she wanted to wrestle her partner, Ember Moon. When the crowd started chanting “Ember,” she and Braxton made the challenge official. Moon immediately accepted and made the match official.
In other news, Liv Morgan made her long-awaited return last night to take on Charlotte, who has also been off television lately. Morgan lost but she still looked motivated. She hinted that she would be back with a new gimmick.
It seems like the division is officially back on track. There is so much potential there, following the Superstar Shake-up. Hopefully, this is a sign that we will see more fresh matchups like this on SmackDown.
SummerSlam will place at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on Aug. 11. Be sure to check back with Bell to Belles for more news.
