Last month, we wrote Mickie James suffered a torn ACL and she would need to undergo surgery. Yesterday, her husband, Nick Aldis provided an update a day after he asked fans to keep her in their thoughts and prayers.
James underwent her first major surgery in her 20-year career on Tuesday. Afterward, Aldis said “Surgery was a complete success. I’m sure when she’s feeling up to it she’ll share more. Thank you all!”
The six-time WWE Women’s Champion added, “Thank you all for your love, prayers, and well wishes. I am grateful! I’ll be just fine… if I come back… I’m coming back bionic!”
Mickie James sustained the knee injury during her match with Carmella at a live event in Waco, Texas. A few days later, she confirmed she tore her ACL via Instagram.
According to Wrestling Inc, James is coming up on the end of a three-year deal she signed with WWE back in December of 2016. It’s unclear if they plan to re-sign her, but she could be out for seven to nine months with the injury.
We would like to wish Mickie James a swift recovery. Hopefully, we will see her James return to the ring sometime next year.
