The first AEW Women’s Championship match will air on TNT debut

Today, All Elite Wrestling (AEW) announced they will air the first AEW Women’s Championship match on the company’s television debut on TNT.

Chief Brand Officer, Brandi Rhodes confirmed this news in her interview with Sports Illustrated.

“For many female wrestlers, the opportunity to fight for the title represents the crowning achievement of their careers,” said Rhodes. “The AEW Women’s Championship will be the cornerstone of the women’s division. The championship will be treated with the utmost respect and prestige. We hope to inspire future female wrestlers to dream of holding such a meaningful title.”

Back in June, Brandi disclosed the promotion would reveal the AEW Women’s Championship belt at All Out later this month.

It’s unclear how they will determine who will compete for the vacant title yet, but more details will be revealed on The Road to AEW All Out via AEW’s YouTube channel. New episodes are on Wednesdays at 8 pm EST.

AEW will make their highly anticipated debut on TNT on Wednesday, Oct. 2 live at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. Tickets will go on sale on tomorrow, Aug. 2 at 12 pm EST on Ticketmaster and aewtix.com.
