The ten best women’s SummerSlam matches

5. Team PCB (Becky Lynch, Charlotte, and Paige) vs. Team B.A.D. (Naomi, Sasha Banks, and Tamina) vs. Team Bella (Alicia Fox, Brie Bella, and Nikki Bella) – 2015

This match is fascinating. One on hand, it marked the beginning of a drastic shift in the quality of women’s wrestling for WWE. On the other, it’s one of those huge multi-women matches the plagued pay-per-view events for years.

That’s not to say this was bad. It’s the best big tag match featuring women in the event’s history. Still, it’s indicative of the crossroad the division was at in 2015. You could see the potential, but WWE still had some stubborn tendencies.

The three-team feud that ignited the “Women’s Revolution” was kind of a mess, but their tag team elimination match at SummerSlam 2015 was fun.

Initially, Team B.A.D. used their tandem offense to isolate Becky Lynch. Until the match spilled outside and Charlotte came to Lynch’s aid with a thunderous Spear.

Afterward, Naomi and Sasha Banks dropped in with stereo slingshot seated sentons. The Bellas got in on the act with a pair of suicide dives, before Paige took everyone out with a senton from the top rope.

Back in the ring, Brie tagged in and eliminated Tamina, as well as her teammates, with a Bella Buster from the middle rope. The remainder of the match dragged a little but it finished strong.

Paige rolled Nikki out of the ring and went for a baseball slide. Bella dodged it and nailed her with a nasty Alabama slam on the floor below. Then Team Bella cut the ring in half and punished “The Diva of Tomorrow.”

This slowed the match down a lot but the eventual hot tag made it worth it. In the end, Lynch eliminated the Bellas when she hit Brie with a Bex-Plex. It was a big win for the babyfaces but an even bigger win for women’s wrestling.
