Tessa Blanchard becomes the Reina De Reinas Champion

Last night, AAA crowned a new Reina De Reinas Champion at TripleMania XXVII.

Before the match started, the current champion, Keyra, was forced to vacate the title due to a knee injury. So, Ayako Hamada joined Lady Shani, Tessa Blanchard, Taya Valkyrie, Faby Apache, Chik Tormenta, and La Hiedra in a TLC match for the now vacant championship.

It didn’t take long for everything to break down. Blanchard and Valkyrie battled in the ring, while the other competitors went for weapons on the outside.

This insane match featured the usual chair shots, table spots, and dives you would expect from a TLC match. But Taya introduced a staple gun to the mix and stapled a picture of herself to Chik Tormenta’s face.

There were several dangerous stunts, as well as a few unfortunate mishaps. For instance, Tormenta took a concerning fall from the top rope. She came down right on her neck, and the medical staff immediately stretchered her out.

In the end, Taya and Tess met at the top of the ladder. Blanchard viciously raked at Valkyrie’s eyes and slammed her head against the steel to dispatch her. Then, she pulled down the belt to become the new AAA Reina De Reinas Champion.

This is another big win for Tessa Blanchard, who unsuccessfully challenged for a shot at the IMPACT World Championship on Friday night.

AAA currently has a partnership with IMPACT, so it will be interesting to see if this affects their programing. Keyra and other AAA stars have made appearances for the promotion in the past.

We couldn’t possibly do this match justice. Drop a comment below if you tuned in to watch TripleMania XXVII and tell us what you thought.
