Stipulation added to Raw Women’s Championship match

The Toronto Sun reported that the Raw Women’s Championship will be on the line at SummerSlam in a submission match.

Natalya hinted that she wanted to challenge the champion to a submission match last week on Raw. Now, it looks like the stipulation is official.

In an exclusive interview with Postmedia News, “The Queen of Harts” said, “I think the stipulation just ups the ante. There is no doubt that the Dis-arm-her is a very effective submission, but the thing about the Sharpshooter is that once you’re locked into it, I could break your back. I could break your arms. I could break your legs. I could break a whole bunch of things.”

“It’s really, really a dangerous submission,” she continued. “Becky’s submission, I feel like it’s really only effective on someone’s arm. There are so many different body parts that the Sharpshooter works. For me, it’s just as effective—if not more effective—than her Dis-arm-her. I’ll have no problem getting Becky down. I’m absolutely not going to tap out in Canada. I can tell you that much.”

Of course, the Sharpshooter is an iconic submission hold that was passed down to Natalya by her uncle, Bret “The Hitman” Hart. The challenger may already have her home country on her side, but this added stipulation could give her a decided advantage.

Her technical prowess is undeniably her greatest strength, and not many women on the roster can match her in that category. With that said, Lynch is proficient with the Dis-arm-her, and she shouldn’t be taken likely.

At any rate, this revelation adds more depth to the Raw Women’s Championship match, which could be one of the better matches on the card.

SummerSlam will take place this Sunday, August 11 at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
