Deadline first reported that former WWE Raw Women’s Champion, Ronda Rousey, is set to join the cast of Fox’s 9-1-1. The hit show is on its third season and Rousey will join the cast in a recurring role. The show, which is based on the trials and tribulations of Los Angeles police officers, firefighters and dispatchers, will take on a tsunami in the upcoming season.
Rousey will play the part of Lena Bosco, a firefighter from the Los Angles Station 136 who comes to assist in the battle to save Santa Monica from being pummeled. She is no stranger to acting and has appeared in several TV shows and movies since she crossed over to acting from UFC. Her resume includes the television show Blindspot and movies like Mile 22 and The Expendables 3.
Wrestling fans last saw Ronda Rousey when she lost her WWE Raw Women’s Championship to Becky Lynch in the monumental triple threat match that took place at this past WrestleMania, which also featured Charlotte Flair.
There have been rumblings that Ronda will be back to WWE sooner rather than later, but those are just rumors as of now. It is wildly known that she was taking time off from the ring to start a family with husband Travis Browne.
Until then, fans will get to see Ronda Rousey on 9-1-1 when its third season premieres on Fox on Monday Sept. 23 at 8 p.m. EST
