TMZ has reported that Ronda Rousey suffered a brutal injury to her middle finger and index finger on the set of Fox’s 9-1-1. The incident happened in Mexico while she was filming a scene for the third season of the show.
During the scene, Rousey slammed her hand into a door severely injuring her middle finger. A source told TMZ, “She was a little over-exuberant and slammed the door on her finger.” True to her bad-ass reputation, Ronda finished the scene before she told the crew what occurred.
Not only is the finger broken, but she also nearly severed its tendon. She was rushed to a San Diego hospital and had her finger repaired with a bolt and screws.
The former WWE Women’s champion is no stranger to injuries. So, she returned to set the following day to continue filming.
As we reported earlier this week, Rousey is signed on for a recurring role on 9-1-1’s third season. She plays Los Angeles Firefighter, Lena Bosco, who comes to the aid of the series regulars as they battle a tsunami. Fox’s hit show debuts on Monday Sept. 23 at 8 p.m. EST.
