Sadly, it appears Kacy Catanzaro is leaving NXT soon due to a nagging back injury.
Casey Michael of Squared Circle Sirens reported that Kacy was having an issue with her discs, so she called it quits. Neither WWE nor Catanzaro have confirmed this news yet.
The Olympian and American Ninja Warrior competitor tried out with the company in January of 2017. She made her televised debut in the second annual Mae Young Classic in 2018, where she defeated Reina Gonzalez to advance to the second round.
Although Rhea Ripley eliminated her in the next round, Catanzaro made a name for herself in the tournament. She parlayed the impressive performance into an appearance in the 2019 Women’s Royal Rumble match.
Catanzaro entered the rumble as entrant no. 19 and executed a show-stopping save before she coincidentally got eliminated again by Ripley.
If this report is true, this is a huge blow to NXT’s women’s division. Kacy Catanzaro was full of potential and WWE clearly invested in her because of her legitimate athleticism.
She was also prominent on PC Diaries on the Performance Center’s YouTube channel.
