WWE draft allegedly planned for October

It appears WWE draft will return in a few weeks, just in time for SmackDown’s move to Fox.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE plans to go back to brand exclusive talent. So, the company “tentatively” scheduled a draft for the Oct. 11 episode of SmackDown in Las Vegas and the Oct. 14 episode of Raw in Denver.

Meltzer went on to say, ” this is part of a series of moves that will be made to freshen up both shows both with talent and in other ways during October.”

SmackDown will debut on Friday on Oct. 4. This episode will also mark the shows 20-year anniversary with a celebratory special similar to Raw Reunion.

It will be interesting to see how this affects the women’s division. There was some excitement around the moves during the Superstar Shake-up but WWE hasn’t exactly made great use of all of their available talent on either brands.

Albeit, the feuds in the women’s division have improved since SummerSlam, but there are still many female superstars who are languishing. Another draft could be just the shot in the arm both brand could use.
