SHIMMER Wrestling recently announced the main event for their upcoming show will be a tag titles match.
Cheerleader Melissa and Mercedes Martinez will defend the SHIMMER Tag Team Championship against the SHIMMER Champion, Nicole Savoy, and Big Swole in November at Volume 114.
Melissa and Martinez gained the titles from The Totally Tubular Tag Team (Delilah Doom & Leva Bates) last year at Volume 107 in a Fatal Four-Way Elimination match. Since the SHIMMER Originals have held them for 324 days.
The challengers, “Swole Family,” are coming into this bout with a load of momentum. The two initially teamed up in April of 2018 to take on Karen Q and Ray Lyn at RISE 7: Sensation.
Last month, Big Swole, formerly known as Aerial Monroe, won her first world title. She finally defeated Zoe Lucas to become the Pheonix of RISE Champion at The Summit.
After the match, Nicole Savoy joined her partner and friend in the ring to raise their championship belts to close the show. In addition, they both participated in AEW’s Women’s Casino Battle Royale last weekend at All Out.
There will be a lot of gold in the ring for this SHIMMER Tag Team Championship match.
SHIMMER 114 will take place at the Berwyn Eagles Club in Berwyn, IL on Nov. 2.
