Clash of Champions is just days away, and both the RAW and SmackDown Women’s Championships are on the line. The Four Horsewomen of WWE are finally all in the title picture, and many fans are getting what they have been longing for.
“The Man”, Becky Lynch, will be defending her title against “The Boss”, Sasha Banks, who has recently returned from her “sabbatical”. On the SmackDown side, Bayley defends her title against Charlotte Flair.
The two matches are easily two of the most exciting and most anticipated matches on the card. Although both championships are on the line, it is unlikely we see the titles change hands at Clash of Championship, as both feuds have a lot more story-telling to be done.

Bayley vs. Charlotte Flair
SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley and Charlotte have a long history together dating back to their NXT days. The days of a championship rematch clause have vanished, but this is the time for Flair to take retribution on Bayley after she won the championship from her at Money in the Bank in May.
In Flair’s eyes, Bayley merely won the title because she cashed in on Flair after her match with Becky Lynch – and after a spear gone wrong that landed Charlotte into the ring post.
Three PPVs had passed since her cash-in on Charlotte. Bayley had a victorious feud over Alexa Bliss and then a victory over Ember Moon at SummerSlam. Charlotte took time off over the summer and returned for an era vs. era feud with Hall of Famer Trish Status. Charlotte defeated Trish and cemented herself as the arguably the greatest female wrestler of all-time.
With the passing of SummerSlam, it became time for The Queen to take back what was rightfully ‘stolen’ from her – the SmackDown Women’s Championship. During “A Moment of Bliss” segment Flair, confronted Bayley and made it to clear to The Hugger that she may be the The Champion of SmackDown, but Flair is The face of the women’s division.
Flair issued a challenge and Bayley accepted a match to take place at Clash of Champions. Now that Sasha Banks has returned, her best friend Bayley has started to make a heel turn, but at this point it’s a little hard to believe.
As much as it is undeniable Charlotte will check “10-time women’s champion” off her list, it seems unlikely it will happen at Clash of Champions. First off, this feud should and will continue. Creative needs to find a way to make The Hugger a more believable heel and possibly have the ‘face’ Charlotte show her how wrong she has been to turn on all her loyal fans and supporters.
Secondly, Charlotte doesn’t need another title reign at the moment to show her worth in the company – and in the division for that matter. She did defeat Trish Status in her ‘final match.’ Bayley needs this title reign more than Charlotte does and should continue to defend against Charlotte at least until Survivor Series.

Becky Lynch vs Sasha Banks
Sasha Banks is BACK! Since WrestleMania, Banks took time off with rumors swirling whether or not she would ever return to WWE TV. On the Aug. 12 edition of RAW, “The Boss” returned. Not only did she return to television, she returned as the the bad-ass, don’t-give-a-crap-about-anyone version of herself.
She set her eyes on the RAW Women’s Championship and “The Man” that held said title. Becky Lynch is the hottest thing going on in WWE, and although she has lost some of her steam since WrestleMania, she is the one standing in the way of Banks.
Becky Lynch has held the RAW Women’s Championship for 156 days – as the writing of this article – and it is very likely “The Boss” will be the one to end that reign. Banks and Lynch are a feud that has the potential to be one of the greatest feuds we have seen in a while.
Banks will end the title reign of Becky Lynch, but not at Clash of Champions. Hell in a Cell is on Oct. 6th and would be a better place to have Banks dethrone the champion. Sasha and Charlotte were the first-ever women to battle inside a cell, and another women’s Hell in the Cell match is long overdue.
