Bayley debuts a new look and regains the women’s title

Following last night’s episode of SmackDown, Bayley became the focus of conversations. The first women’s Grand Slam Championship debuted a new look and persona in her rematch against Charlotte Flair.

The former “Hugger” came out rocking a short haircut, black nail polish, and new gear. Then, she destroyed the inflatable Bayley buddies she has used as part of her entrance since she debuted on the main roster.

This change in attitude no doubt stems from the breakdown Bayley had after she lost the SmackDown Women’s Championship on Sunday at Hell in a Cell. Afterward, she notably questioned why this always happens to me.

Last night, she emerged more focused. She seems more in line with what fans expected after she teamed up with Sasha Banks to beat down Becky Lynch on the Sept. 2 episode of Raw.

The match went as expected. The challenger didn’t wrestle that different despite her new look and demeanor. She used all of her usual tactics including the Bayley to Belly and her elbow drop but she couldn’t put Flair away.

It looked like Charlotte would retain when she nailed her with the Natural Selection and went for the Figure Eight. However, Bayley played possum and quickly rolled Flair up to win via pinfall and become a two-time SmackDown Women’s Champion.

After the match, the new champion said, “Screw all of you” and raised the title defiantly as SmackDown went off the air.
