Jazz to debut with Pro-Wrestling: EVE in 2019 SHE-1 Series

Today, Pro-Wrestling: EVE drew the blocks for the third annual SHE-1 Series. In one of the biggest surprises, former WWE Women’s Champion, Jazz, was the last competitor drawn in Block C.

The SHE-1, EVE’s version of New Japan’s G1 Climax, is a round-robin tournament spread out across four events on two nights. Each wrestler will face every competitor in their block in a one-on-one match, gaining 2 points per win.

The woman with the most points from each block will advance to the finals, which is a triple threat match. The winner will earn a title shot in the main event Wrestle Queendom III.

In June, last year’s winner, Jamie Hayter, went on to become the current EVE International Champion.

Here are the blocks for this year’s tournament:

BLOCK A

  • Mercedes Martinez
  • Aleah James
  • Angel Hayze
  • Kasey

BLOCK B

  • Gisele Shaw
  • Laura Di Matteo
  • Nicole Savoy
  • Millie McKenzie

BLOCK C

  • Mei Suruga
  • Jetta
  • Rhia O’ Reilly
  • Jazz

This will be Jazz’s debut with EVE, following her appearance in the AEW’s Women’s Casino Battle Royale at All Out.

The women’s wrestling legends’ resume speaks for itself. She is best known for her run with WWE, where she was a two-time women’s champion. Jazz is also the first African-American NWA World Women’s Champion. She held the title for 948 days, making her the longest-reigning modern champion.

Nicole Savoy is also a newcomer to EVE. She recently cemented her legacy as the longest-reigning SHIMMER Champion.

The 2019 SHE-1 Series will start next Saturday, Nov. 9, with an event at 3 pm and 8 pm GMT. On the following day, there will be an event at 2:30 pm and 6:30 pm GMT.
