WWE NXT announces the first-ever women’s War Games match

During tonight’s episode of WWE NXT, the first-ever women’s War Games match was announced.

On the card during tonight’s NXT, Asuka and Kairi Sane showed up to defend their WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships against Tegan Nox and Dakota Kai.

The match was given the proper time, and provided some much-needed storytelling and a great wrestling showcase. Asuka and Sane retained the titles, after a mouth full of green mist took out Kai. But that’s when the real chaos broke out.

Shayna Baszler, Marina Shafir, and Jessamyn Duke strutted out to cause insult to injury, and took to the ring to put on more hurt to Kai and Nox. Before Baszler could finish the job, Rhea Ripley stalked her way to the ring.

But…before Ripley could make it all the way down the ramp, in ran Io Shirai, Bianca Belair, and Candice LeRae, causing an all-out brawl in and out of the ring.

A crowd of security officials and refs joined the madness, trying to pry everyone apart, before William Regal took to the mic, and put the stop on the riot, once and for all.

“I have a very simple solution for this…WAR GAMES.”

The War Games match is the main event of NXT TakeOver: War Games, set to take place on November 23. Traditionally, the match takes place between two to three teams, inside a cage, where opponents are allowed in the ring one-at-a-time, in five minute intervals. Teams wrestle until any opponent submits, surrenders, gets a pinfall, or is knocked unconscious.

There’s no word on how the teams will be formed, but fans are excited to finally get to see the extremely talented NXT women’s division get the chance to show their shine.

The third NXT TakeOver: War Games will take place Nov. 23 at the Allstate Arena, in Rosemont, Illinois.
