Tonight during NWA Powerrr, the promotion previewed a documentary that will follow Thunder Rosa as she makes her MMA debut.
Over the weekend, Thunder Rosa, real name Melissa Cervantes, made her debut for Combate Americas in San Antonio, Texas. At the event, she took part in a three-round bout against Nadine Mandiau.
Mandiau had a slight advantage because she competed as an amateur MMA fighter from 2017 to 2018 with a record of 4-1. She was also notably taller, so she had a longer reach.
However, Thunder Rosa put on a gutsy performance, lasting until the third and final round. She lost via unanimous decision.
Before the fight, NWA posted an exclusive interview with Joe Galli, where Rosa discussed her experience heading into her first appearance for Combate Americas. The promotion showed their support throughout the night and expressed pride in her even in defeat.
Tonight, NWA revealed some more behind the scenes footage in a preview for an upcoming documentary called “Into The Cage.” It looks to chronicle her preparation for the fight, the day of, and the aftermath.
