WWE confirmed NXT UK Takeover: Blackpool II will take place on Jan. 12, 2020.
According to Wrestling Inc., they announced it at today’s NXT UK tapings in Hull, England.
Blackpool was the site of the first NXT UK TakeOver event this year on Jan. 12, 2019. Toni Storm defeated Rhea Ripley at the event to start her 230-day reign as NXT UK Women’s Champion.
It looks like NXT UK will return to the Empress Ballroom, making it the kickoff show for the brand’s calendar year.
This will only be the third NXT UK TakeOver event, following TakeOver: Cardiff. Notably, Kay Lee Ray defeated Storm at the event to become the current champion.
There are no matches scheduled yet, but it will be interesting to see who Ray defends the title against in January.
