Rhea Ripley has made a huge impact on NXT since she debuted to challenge Shayna Baszler on the Aug. 28 episode. She will lead a team against “The Submission Magician” this Saturday in the first-ever Women’s WarGames Match.
One would have to imagine she will eventually become the number one contender, as well. She could be one to finally defeat Baszler and become the new NXT Women’s Champion.
That’s why she will probably be heavily featured throughout Survivor Series weekend. Ripley could just as easily be the top choice for the leader of Team NXT. Depending on how the match plays out at TakeOver, we could see her pull double duty.
Speaking of, the WarGames match adds an interesting wrinkle to the build for Survivor Series. Arguably, it complicates everything because it forces members of each team to make a quick turnaround for the sake of the brand.
Even more, it makes it difficult to suspend disbelief because so many potential members of the team are participating in such a violent match the night before.
Furthermore, it kind of gives the women from Raw and SmackDown an advantage. With that said, Ripley is the safest bet when considering who could compete and excel in both matches.
That’s our predictions. There’s also a chance for a surprise debut. Shotzi Blackheart, Scarlett Bordeaux, and Santana Garrett are all available and they have tremendous name recognition. As noted earlier, Survivor Series would be a great way to bring someone new into the fold.
