A few months ago, Tony Kahn confirmed that Kylie was granted her release from AEW when asked after All Out. Afterward, many insiders and fans assumed she planned to retire.
However, she returned to roots as an independent wrestler in September to replace Shotzi Blackheart at a Freelance Wrestling show. Since she has made several appearances on the indie circuit, leaving many to continue speculating about AEW.
Recently, Brandi Rhodes denied that she bullied Rae on Twitter. The rumor had been going around but Rhodes finally addressed it when someone accused her last week.
Today, Kylie also spoke out on social media to clear up any misconceptions about her relationship with AEW.
“I don’t know many rumors and honestly try to stay away from everything, obviously,” she said. “But here: nobody made me leave. AEW took my career to new levels and I’m beyond grateful for every opportunity and experience that has come along the way and wish nothing but the best. It’s a great group of people who truly love wrestling and just want everyone to succeed.”
Kylie Rae showed promise as one of the company’s initial signees, so it’s still surprising and a little disappointing that she chose to leave. With that said, she surely had her own personal reasons and some fans need to accept that.
Nevertheless, it’s great to see her doing well as an indie wrestler again and we can’t wait to see what she does next.
