While everyone was enjoying their Thanksgiving festivities, Ring the Belle posted an exclusive interview with “The Native Beast,” Nyla Rose.

The AEW star discussed various topics with host, DS Shin, including the criticism that this is a lack of storylines for the women in the company. She also spoke about her experiences online since she gained more exposure.

AEW has faced its fair share of criticism surrounding its women’s division over the last month. Kenny Omega recently addressed it during an interview with Wrestling Observer Radio.

On the subject, Rose acknowledged that some commentary is fair but encouraged fans to stay tuned because the division still has room to grow.

“I think it’s a valid concern, she said. “But I think people need to slow down hold their horses. We’ve only been on TV for six weeks. We’re just as excited as you guys are. Absolutely, Don’t get it twisted but we have to establish everything, absolute pandemonium. So, we’re getting our ducks in a row. First up, we got our world champion lined up. What’s next, tag team. On the first show, we established who the women’s champion is, so you knew some of the people coming into this. So [women’s division] took, I don’t want to say a back seat, but it kind of ran in the background a little bit. But now if you look on TV, we have three and four segments going. Things are picking up, so just be calm be patient. There’s a method to the madness.

Nyla Rose is the first transgender wrestler to perform with a major American wrestling promotion. It’s a historic accomplishment that has garnered praise and some derision. “The Native Beast” opened up about how she handles the negative attention.

“I don’t know that I do have a secret for dealing with it,” Rose said. I just kind of do. You know. I think a lot of it has to do with empathy. I feel like a lot of people are kind of projecting their own unhappiness on to me, and using me as an outlet. A punching bag, if you will. It sucks. Please stop doing it, please. I celebrate Christmas. You can give me that for Christmas, just effing stop. But I get it. Some people are a little bit confused. Because for some reason a lot of male fans when they watch wrestling, they judge how good it is by how funny their pants feel.

“So when I come on the TV and their pants feel tingly, they get a little confusing. I get that. But it’s ok. It doesn’t change anything about you that doesn’t want to change. You don’t have to have some internal conflict struggle of the masses. But if you want to talk about it we can just please stop calling me names.“
