It has been a monumental year for Stardom. Today, the promotion announced there will be a Stardom match at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 14.
The Joshi promotion made it official earlier this morning at the Year-End Climax 2019. Their first major show under Bushiroad had 1,334 in attendance, their largest crowd since 2015.
New Japan’s parent company bought Stardom back in October, leaving many to speculate on if this could mean there would be a cross-promotional appearance in the works. Well, this announcement puts those questions to rest and ends the year on a high note.
The Stardom match will take place on Jan. 4 on the first night of Wrestle Kingdom weekend, which will be a two-night event next year. They haven’t revealed who will participate in the match yet, it will be the first time a women’s match has ever appeared on a Wrestle Kingdom card.
Stardom is also hosting a show on the day of Wrestle Kingdom at Ryogoku KFC Hall, which is a 10-minute train ride from the Tokyo Dome.
January looks to be a big month for the company. Their partnership with Bushiroad is already paying off for them. It will be interesting to see what else they have planned in 2020.
