Las Sicarias
If you have a conversation about women’s wrestling outside of WWE, it’s nearly impossible to go without mentioning the best independent women’s wrestler in the world, Mercedes Martinez. So, it should come as no surprise that she would land on this list.
In 2017, “The Latina Sensation” and Ivelisse formed a new version of Las Sicarias, which formerly included Amanda Carolina Rodriguez. The pair went on to defeat Raquel and Santana Garrett at SHINE 42 to become the new Tag Team Champions.
Over the next year, they entered into feuds with The Twisted Sisters, Thunder Rosa and Holidead, and Ruthless Ambition, Maria Manic and Penelope Ford. Las Sicarias defeated Rosa and Holidead in their first title defense at SHINE 46, but they would become reoccurring opponents throughout their tenure as SHINE Tag Team Champions.
The Twisted Sisters eventually defeated them for the titles in a fatal four-way elimination match at SHINE 52, ending their 434-day reign. They were able to retain them last November at SHINE 54.
To date, Las Sacarias are still the longest-reigning SHINE Tag Team Champions, boasting a year-long tenure with five title defenses under their belt.
Their pursuit of singles success ultimately undermined their partnership as they kicked off a heated rivalry back in August, which culminated in a SHINE Championship match at SHINE 64.
