Becky Lynch is not over her loss to Asuka at last year’s Royal Rumble, and she is out to prove she’s still The Man.
During tonight’s episode of Raw, Lynch announced her feud would come full circle with Asuka, and she would face Asuka at the Royal Rumble for the Raw Women’s Championship.
At the 2019 Royal Rumble, Asuka defeated Lynch by submission, retaining the SmackDown Women’s Championship. Though Lynch would go on to become Becky 2 Belts, and Asuka would go on to co-form The Kabuki Warriors, Lynch would never forget the loss.
During the announcement, Lynch claimed that she could have signed a promising contract extension, if she would have just let the feud and the loss go, but she wanted the match first and foremost, tired of being in WWE’s “golden shackles”.
“History needed to know if a woman could be the face of this entire business, I did that. Now I need to know if it was worth it,” Lynch stated.
The Man would continue by saying, “I don’t know if I can beat Asuka, but I’m going to wipe my record, even if it kills me.”
Becky Lynch will defend her Raw Women’s Championship on Jan. 26 against Asuka, set to air live from Minute Maid Park in Houston.
