Toni Storm vs. Rhea Ripley title match set for Worlds Collide

Toni Storm is on a mission to become the next double champion by the end of Royal Rumble weekend at Worlds Collide.

During tonight’s episode of NXT, former NXT UK Women’s Champion Storm interrupted Rhea Ripley during an in-ring promo. Storm goaded Ripley, threatening to become the newest double champion at the upcoming Worlds Collide.

Storm is scheduled to face NXT UK Women’s Champion Kay Lee Ray and Piper Niven in a triple-threat match for the title at NXT UK TakeOver Blackpool II, this coming Sunday. If Storm won, she would walk away with the NXT UK Women’s belt.

That would put Storm as the champion going into Royal Rumble weekend, where if the stars aligned properly, the New Zealand wrestler could walk way with the NXT Women’s Title, making her “Toni’s Two Belts”.

Storm and Ripley were on Team NXT together at the 2019 Survivor Series last November, defeating Team Raw and Team SmackDown.

The two last faced each other at the same event last year, during Day 2 of the WWE Worlds Collide taping at the 2019 Royal Rumble Axxess. A defending Storm defeated Ripley during the dark match for the NXT UK Women’s Title.

NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool II will air Jan. 12 on the WWE Network. WWE Worlds Collide will also air live on the WWE Network, Jan. 25, from the Toyota Center in Houston.
