Sunday, Jamie Hayter ended Utami Hayashishita’s 388-day reign to become the new SWA World Champion at the recent STARDOM event.
Last weekend, Hayter and Bea Priestley defeated Jungle Kyona and Konami win the Goddess of Stardom Championship the 9th Anniversary Show. Later, they defected to Odeo Tai when Priestley attacked Momo Watanabe.
Today, Jamie Hayter challenged another Queen’s Quest member, Utami Hayashishita, for the SWA World Championship. The SWA (Stardom World Association) title is the result of an international alliance with BEW, the French Association Biterroise de Catch, the Mexican Women Wrestling Stars, and the Spanish Revolution Championship Wrestling.
The title can only be defended against a challenger from another country other than the reigning champion’s home country. Hayter defeated Hayashishita to become the fifth SWA World Champion since it was established in May of 2016.
Utami had a dominant run in 2019, winning the title in January at STARDOM’s 8th Anniversary show. She went on to hold the title for over a year.
It hasn’t been a good year for Queen’s Quest so far. To add to this loss, Priestly sided with their rivals and Donna del Mondo is gunning for the Artist of Stardom Championship.
