Saturday, Pro Wrestling: Eve crowned a new Eve International Champion at Reign After Queendom.
At the event, Dann Read announced that Jamie Hayter would defend the title in a fatal four-way match against Sammii Jayne, Nina Samuels, and Laura Di Matteo.
Afterward, Di Matteo sought revenge against Skye Smitson because she interfered in the Eve Championship match at Wrestle Queendom 3 to help Rhia O’Reilly retain. Smitson, who was accompanied by The Uprising, accepted the challenge under one condition.
Di Matteo and Jetta were originally scheduled to face Smitson and Nightshade. However, Laura put her title shot on the line to face Skye one on one. This backfired as the newest member of The Uprising defeated her with a roll-up to earn a spot in the main event.
Later, Di Matteo returned the favor when she cost Smitson the title. Meanwhile, Sammii Jayne defied the odds to end Jamie Hayter’s 216-day reign as EVE International Champion. This win makes Jayne the promotion’s first triple crown champion.
Hayter is currently on a hot streak with STARDOM, winning both the SWA World and Goddess of Stardom Championship. So, this was her last EVE match for the foreseeable future. The show closed as her peers including Bea Priestley wished her farewell.
In other news, Medusa Complex successfully defended the EVE Tag Team Championship against Team LLL, Aleah James and Clementine, in an open challenge. O’Reilly also bet Jinny in a non-title match.
Reign After Queendom will be available soon on EVE on Demand. Be sure to check back with Bell to Belles for more women’s wrestling news.
