It sounds like Aja Perera will be the next big name in indie wrestling to sign with WWE.

According to Casey Michael of Squared Circle Sirens, the Brazilian wrestler will be one of the next NXT recruits. Perera has worked with EVOLVE, CHIKARA, and several other independent promotions.

However, she is probably the most well known for her time with SHINE, where she was the first black Nova Champion. In addition, Perera teamed with Big Swole, and Ayla Fox to make history again as Triple Aye.

Back in September, the team became the first African-American women to win the SHINE Tag Team Championship. Triple Aye recently dropped the titles to the former champions, BTY, at EVOLVE 144.

In December, Aja Perera attended a WWE tryout at the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. So, this report shouldn’t come as much of a surprise if it’s true. WWE hasn’t confirmed it yet, but Perera would make a great addition to NXT’s outstanding women’s division.
