Raquel Gonzalez debuts at NXT TakeOver: Portland

Raquel Gonzalez made her televised debut at NXT TakeOver: Portland to help Dakota Kai defeat her former friend, Tegan Nox.

Tegan Nox and Dakota Kai’s heated rivalry came to a head this weekend in a brutal Street Fight. There was no love lost as the two tore each other apart inside and outside the ring.

There were some stiff kick and knee strikes, as most of us would expect. However, there were also some nasty-looking weapons spots, as many would hope to see in a hardcore stipulation match.

Both women took a lot of punishment but Tegan Nox took control when she targeted Kai’s knee. She had the match won when she landed The Shiniest Wizard, but she opted to continue her onslaught instead.

Nox dragged a table into the ring and laid “The Captain of Team Kick” across it. Then, she took it a step further when she put a chair around Kai’s neck and climbed to the top rope.

Just when it looked like she could end Dakota’s career, Raquel Gonzalez interfered and hurled Nox through the table below. As a result, Kai used the opportunity to pick up the win via pinfall.

Raquel, who was formerly known as Reina Gonzalez, is the daughter of Ricky “Desperado” González. The second-generation wrestler Gonzalez competed in the first annual Mae Young Classic in 2017.

Since she has worked numerous live events in NXT. She notably challenged Shayna Baszler for the NXT Women’s Championship at all-women’s live event last year.
