Naomi vs. Bayley set for WWE Super Showdown

It’s official. Naomi and Bayley will be the first women to compete for a WWE women’s championship in the Middle East at Super Showdown.

This first-time match-up has been in the making since Naomi returned to SmackDown after Royal Rumble. On her first appearance on the “blue brand” since the move to Fox, Naomi made it clear that the SmackDown Women’s Champion has never beat her.

Although she dominated in a number one contender’s match two weeks ago, Carmella emerged as Bayley’s next challenger. “The Princess of Staten Island” claim this opportunity in the opening match of last week’s episode of SmackDown.

Unfortunately, she was unsuccessful because the champion used the ropes to beat her with a leveraged pin. After the match, Naomi came down to help Carmella run Bayley off.

This set up a second number one contender’s match this week. After a competitive match, Naomi won to earn a shot at Bayley at WWE Super Showdown.

This match will mark the first women’s title match to take place in Saudi Arabia, and the Middle East as a whole. It’s the natural second step following the first women’s match that took place there at Crown Jewel.

WWE Super Showdown will take place on Feb. 27 at King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
