Ring of Honor has announced Mandy Leon and Alex Gracia as the two newest contenders to compete for the inaugural ROH Women’s Championship.
The addition of Leon and Gracia confirms ten of sixteen women who will contend for the title. Previously, ROH announced Session Moth Martina, Tasha Steelz, Jenny Rose, Sumie Sakai, Angelina Love, Kellyanne, Katarina, and Nicole Savoy.
Mandy Leon has been signed with Ring of Honor since 2014 and is currently one-third of “The Allure”. She will join her stablemate, Angelina Love in the tournament.
A graduate of the ROH Dojo, Leon made history in 2015 by competing in the first match in the officially branded Women of Honor division. Since then, Leon’s journey has taken her across the globe, competing with the best in ROH and Japan’s Stardom promotion.In 2017, she had a strong showing in Stardom’s prestigious 5 Star Grand Prix in Japan, highlighted by a victory over eventual winner Toni Storm.
“The Pink Dream” Alex Gracia has only been wrestling for two years but she has made a name for herself in that short period of time. Gracia has the opportunity of a lifetime with a chance to become the first-ever ROH Women’s World Champion
A graduate of the Texas Wrestling Academy — which was formerly run by Shawn Michaels and has produced stars such as Bryan Danielson, Brian Kendrick and Paul London — Gracia has competed for Stardom in Japan and for several promotions in Mexico, including CMLL. She’s a former holder of the women’s championship in Reality of Wrestling, the Texas-based independent promotion owned by Booker T.
The ROH Women’s World Championship Tournament will start at Quest For Gold on Apr. 24 in Philadelphia, PA at the 2300 Arena.
