After WWE telegraphed it for weeks, they officially confirmed Shayna Baszler will face Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 36 for the Raw Women’s Championship.
There was really only one likely way for this night to end after Baszler attacked “The Man” on the Feb. 10 episode of Raw. When she bit Lynch on the neck, she staked her a claim as her next opponent ahead of the “Showcase of Immortals.”
Nevertheless, she entered the Elimination Chamber to compete against Asuka, Liv Morgan, Sarah Logan, Ruby Riott, and Natalya to determine the new number one contender.
Riott and Natalya opened the match with Logan entering third. Then, Baszler joined the fight and immediately forced the former Riott Squad member to tap out with Kirifuda Cluth.
Next, she made quick work of the “Queen of Harts” and stood in the middle of the ring, waiting for her next target. Liv Morgan was up next.
The “Submission Magician” brutally slammed her against her pod and the side of the chamber. Then, she locked in her finishing move and forced her to pass out in front of Asuka.
“The Empress of Tomorrow” faired better than the others. At one point, she nearly won via submission but Baszler managed to escape. Asuka ultimately suffered the same fate as Morgan as she refused to tap and passed out, making Shayna the number one contender.
So, Shayna Baszler is heading to WrestleMania to challenge Becky Lynch, who beat her fellow Horsewoman nearly a year ago.
