Due to Illinois’s “shelter in place” order, AAW Wrestling must cancel their upcoming Fight for the Future tapings.
In response to several cancelations, AAW planned to launch a weekly live series to help independent wrestlers who have been out of work. Fight for the Future would stream live and give fans the opportunity to donate to their favorite wrestlers.
Unfortunately, Illinois Governor, J. B. Pritzker, instituted a “shelter in place” order, which will result in temporary closure for all non-essential businesses in the state. The statewide mandate will take effect on Saturday evening and remain until Tuesday, Apr. 7.
As such, AAW had to cancel their tapings that were scheduled to begin this weekend. The Chicago-based promotion confirmed the news via their Twitter account. In the meantime, AAW will continue to accept donations.
Freelance’s Warehouse Wars is also canceled following this news.
For anyone looking for more content, AAW put together a playlist of free shows on their YouTube channel.
It is unclear if AAW Fight for the Future will resume next month. For now, we will have to wait and see.
