On Tuesday night, STARDOM held its annual one-night event at Korakuen Hall, where they crowned the 2020 Cinderella Tournament winner.
The Joshi promotion’s new upstart and the leader of Donna del Mondo, Giulia, earned the ceremonial ball gown to potentially set up her first singles title feud.
Giulia signed with STARDOM last year after she controversially left Ice Ribbon. Since, she has been on a tear with the company, creating her own unit and gaining several high-profile wins.
In the first round, Giulia took on Jungle Kyona. Early on, Kyona targeted her neck and upper back, which was already heavily taped. The head of Donna del Mondo fought back and slowed her opponent down with an Octopus stretch.
In the end, Giulia forced Kyona to pass out with the Stealth Viper to move on to the next round. Next, she nailed Momo Watanabe with a Glorious Driver on the apron to win via elimination.
Later, she threw her stablemate, Syuri, over the top rope to advance and face Natsuko Tora in the finals. Giulia ultimately became the 2020 Cinderella Tournament winner with the use of the Stealth Viper.
Afterward, she used her wish to challenge last year’s winner and the Wonder of Stardom Champion, Arisa Hoshiki.
