3 Takeaways from WrestleMania 36 Night 1

WrestleMania 36 Night 1 was one for the books. It was an equally unique and jarring viewing experience but it was entertaining. For better or worst, it was certainly memorable.

On Saturday night, WWE tried to “put smiles on faces during these uncertain times” in its first WrestleMania two-night event. Yes, it’s weird that they still won’t acknowledge COVID-19 on their programming and they are overusing the euphemisms above. Still, they managed to deliver a good show given the circumstances.

There were two women’s title matches on the cards last night, with two more scheduled for tonight. In addition, Natalya will take on Liv Morgan on the kickoff show, giving fans five women’s matches total this weekend.

Honestly, the Raw Women’s Championship and women’s tag title match won’t go down as the most talked about moments from the first night of this year’s edition of WrestleMania. There was plenty to like, but they definitely could’ve been better.
