Fire and Desire officially split up
First of all, one of the biggest takeaways last night was that The Weeknd’s Blinding Lights is a banger. No, but seriously, there were plenty of story developments to talk about.
It would seem the remnants of Absolution, Fire and Desire, broke up. WWE has been teasing a split on and off since last year. This weekend, they finally pulled the trigger.
On Friday, a hooded figure revealed that Sonya Deville was behind the mix up with Otis on the Valentine’s Day episode of SmackDown. Deville insisted that she was only looking out for a longtime friend, Mandy Rose, but it still isn’t clear what her motives were.
Last night, Deville accompanied Dolph Ziggler to the ring for his match with Otis. Throughout, she interfered on his behalf, cementing her heel turn. In the end, Mandy came down, attacked her former partner, and helped Otis win.
Rose’s face turn was particularly well-executed and we can’t wait to see what this means in the upcoming episodes. Hopefully, this leads to a good run as single competitors for both women, especially for Sonya Deville.
