As of today, Anna Jay is the newest addition to the AEW women’s division. The Georgia native debuted on last week’s episode of Dynamite.
“The Star of the Show” is relatively new to the squared circle. Jay is known for her work with Georgia Premier Wrestling. She debuted last September in a charity show hosted by her coach, Ray Lloyd, who is better known as Glacier. AEW’s QT Marshall also had a hand in train the newcomer.
Last week, she faced Hikaru Shida in a quick one-on-one match on the Apr. 1 episode of Dynamite. It’s hard to judge her based on one appearance, especially when she mostly worked to highlight Shida’s offense. However, she has a great look and a good grasp of theatrics.
Jay is the first new female signing this year. She may not be a high-profile name like some of the other members of the roster but the move shows AEW is still working to build their women’s division. This is also a great opportunity for her to grow along with other experienced performers.
