Today, Tessa Blanchard apologized for missing IMPACT: Rebellion via Twitter. She also took the time to address Michael Elgin’s comments from Night One.
The Impact World Champion was originally scheduled to defend her title in a triple threat match with Elgin and Eddie Edwards. However, Blanchard opted not to attend the tapings for the event because of concerns about COVID-19.
Last night, Elgin cut a promo, where he proclaimed that Blanchard was afraid of him. In response, Tessa took to Twitter to dispel his claim.
“I’ve been in the ring with guys bigger than you and I’ve beaten guys bigger than you,” she wrote. “Scared? No. Staying safe? Yes. To be the best, you’ve got to beat the best.. and whether you or anyone else likes it, I AM the best in @IMPACTWRESTLING“
Then, Tessa Blanchard went on to apologize to the fans and explain why she missed IMPACT: Rebellion.
“I’m sorry to all the fans of IMPACT Wrestling that I wasn’t there tonight. These times affect each one of us in very different yet very significant ways. I encourage everyone 2 stay home & that includes myself. Great job to everyone who competed tonight. #WeAreAllInThisTogether.”
It’s unclear how IMPACT plans to address Blanchard’s absence next week on Night Two and who will compete in the main event.
