Friday, Lacey Evans won her qualifying match on SmackDown to earn a spot in the 2020 Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match.
Last week, Dana Brooke defeated Naomi to become the first woman from the “blue brand” to qualify. Tonight, Lacey Evans took on Sasha Banks, who was accompanied by the Bayley.
At the start of the match, SmackDown Women’s Champion and Banks taunted Evans with a picture of her daughter. Bayley continued to interfere throughout the bout.
Nevertheless, “The Lady of WWE” eventually nailed Banks with the Women’s Right to seemingly pick up the win. However, Bayley stepped in again and put Sasha’s foot on rope to keep her in the match.
Then, “The Boss” took advantage and rolled up Evans, but the referee was still distracted by Bayley on the outside. This set Lacey up to hit Banks with a second Women’s Right and pick up the win.
In a few weeks, Lacey Evans will join Brooke, Asuka, Nia Jax, and Shayna Baszler in the fourth annual Women’s Money in the Bank Match. Next Friday, Mandy Rose will take on Carmella for the final spot.
Money in the Bank will take place on Sunday, May 10 at “Titan Towers,” WWE’s global headquarters building in Stamford, Connecticut.
