Penelope Ford replaces Britt Baker at AEW Double or Nothing

Penelope Ford will officially step in as a replacement for Britt Baker this weekend at AEW Double or Nothing.

Britt Baker was originally scheduled to face Kris Statlander on The Buy In before Double or Nothing. The two had lingering animosity after the finish of the Fatal Four-Way match from the May 13 episode of Dynamite.

Unfortunately, Baker suffered a knee injury this week in a tag team match with Statlander, Nyla Rose, and Hikaru Shida. The injury possibly happened when Rose landed on Baker, who was laying in the corner.

It was clear that something went awry because Britt was off-screen for a long period of time and she wasn’t involved in the finish.

AEW hasn’t confirmed the extent of Baker’s injury or how long she will be out of action. However, they plan to address her status tomorrow night at the pay-per-view event.

With that said, Penelope Ford will replace her in the match with Statlander. In addition, Nyla Rose will defend the AEW Women’s World Championship against Hikaru Shida in a No Countout/Disqualification Match.

AEW Double or Nothing 2020 will take place this Saturday, May 23 at 8 pm EST. The event will be available on on Fite TV and B/R Live.
