After weeks of tension, it’s official. Deonna Purrazzo will challenge Jordynne Grace for the Knockouts Championship at Slammiversary 2020.
Purrazzo made her first appearance on IMPACT! two weeks ago after she signed with the company in May. She immediately made a drastic impression as she attacked the reigning Knockouts Champion, Jordynne Grace.
On the following episode, she attacked her again, making it clear she plans to become the next champion. This week, “The Virtuosa” made her in-debut against Alisha Edwards.
Purrazzo looked impressive as she put Edwards away with her trademark “Fujiwara Armbar.” Afterward, Grace came down and ran her off.
Later, IMPACT announced that Purrazzo will get her shot at the Knockouts Championship in a few weeks at Slammiversary.
Tessa Blanchard will also defend the Impact World Championship at the event in a Fatal Five-Way Elimination match. Blanchard will have to survive Ace Austin, Eddie Edwards, and Trey Miguel.
Micheal Elgin was originally scheduled to compete in this match, but he was recently suspended. It’s unclear if IMPACT plans to replace him, or change the match to a fatal four-way.
Slammiversary 2020 will stream live on Fite.tv on Saturday, July 18.
