On tonight’s episode SmackDown, Nikki Cross won a Fatal Four-way Number One Contender’s Match to become Bayley‘s opponent at WWE Extreme Rules.
Cross competed against her tag team partner, Alexa Bliss, Dana Brooke, and Lacey Evans. Meanwhile, Sasha Banks and Bayley looked on from the commentary desk.
Each competitor got a chance to shine. Brooke looked impressive but she ultimately fell short when Evan countered her handspring with the Woman’s Right.
Then, Nikki Cross slid in and rolled “The Sassy Southern Belle” up to win a title shot against Bayley at Extreme Rules.
Of course, this isn’t the first time the two have faced each other as they had in extensive feud last year. However, this is possibly a way to maintain interest in the Banks and Bayley’s feud with Bliss Cross Applesauce.
The Raw Women’s Championship will also be on the line at the event. On Monday, Sasha Banks challenged Asuka after she and Bayley picked up their third successful title defense.
“The Empress of Tomorrow” accepted, granting “The Boss” her first Raw women’s title match since Hell in a Cell 2019.
WWE Extreme Rules will take place on Sunday, July, 19. The event will stream live on the WWE Network.
