Utami Hayashishita would make a perfect contender after a breakout year in 2018. She won the Rookie Of Stardom Gauntlet Match and went on to hold four titles by the end of January of 2019.
She and Momo Watanabe won the 2018 Goddesses Of Stardom Tag League. Then, they dethroned Jungle Kyona and Natsuko Tora at Best of the Goddesses to become the new champions.
Hayashishita had a dominant run as a single competitor in 2019, winning the Future of Stardom Championship in January. Later that month, she defeated Viper, WWE’s Piper Nivens, to capture both the SWA World and Pro-Wrestling EVE International Championship.
She has since lost three of those titles. She also vacated the Future of Stardom belt to pursue the “red” and “white belt” following her fifth defense against Saya Kamitani.
After such a strong rookie year, Utami seems destined to be a top star. She could conceivably bring the Wonder of Stardom Championship back to Queen’s Quest this year.
She unsuccessfully challenged Arisa for the title in a brutal match at the Stardom 9th Anniversary show in January. However, it’s only a matter of time before she wins one of the main belts.
