On Saturday night, Synergy Pro Wrestling announced they will host a Women’s Garden State Invitational Tournament later this year.

This weekend, Synergy kicked off its Second Annual Garden State Invitational Tournament. During the event, New Jersey-based promotion revealed that they will run an all-women’s event at the end of the year.

The upcoming Women’s Garden State Invitational Tournament will feature eight of the top female indie wrestlers in the company. The participants will compete for the Women’s GSI Trophy.

Additionally, a staff composed entirely of women will run the event. So, women will take part as commentators, officials, creative directors, announcers, and cameramen.

Synergy hasn’t released a bracket for the tournament so there is no word on who will participate yet. However, Kasey Catal is a notable member of their roster. So, it’s a safe bet that she will compete.

For now, we will have to wait for more updates, but this is great news for women’s wrestling fans. Hopefully, it’s a sign of good things to come for independent wrestling.

Women’s Garden State Invitational Tournament will take place in December.
