Dasha Gonzalez to debut in AEW Women’s Tag Team Cup

Dasha Gonzalez will make her in-ring debut with AEW on Monday’s episode of the AEW Women’s Tag Team Cup Tournament: The Deadly Draw.

During a social media exclusive segment, women’s wrestling icon, Madusa, had Dasha Gonzalez draw a chip to enter the tournament. AEW’s backstage correspondent selected blue, which means she will team up with Rachael Ellering.

Ellering will also appear on Tuesday’s episode of AEW Dark. The team will face Ivelisse and Diamante, who drew matching chips over the weekend.

Dasha signed with WWE in 2014 as a wrestler but she never had a televised match. She worked a few NXT live events as Dasha Fuentes in the following year before she transitioned into a role as a backstage interviewer.

WWE released Gonzalez in April of 2019 and she joined AEW as a part of their broadcast team a few months later. Now, it looks like she will finally get to show what she can do in the squared circle.

AEW hasn’t revealed the remaining two teams set to compete Women’s Tag Team Cup yet. However, “The Nightmare Sisters” and the team of Anna Jay and Tay Conti moved on to the semi-finals last week.

The AEW Women’s Tag Team Cup Tournament: The Deadly Draw will air on Monday nights at 6 pm CST on the company’s YouTube channel.
